Yokai is a BGaming slot that steps into a mystical Japanese forest filled with spirits, masks, moonlight and a mysterious samurai protector. Wilds: Wilds appear only on reels 2, 3 and 4. They substitute for all regular paying symbols, but not for scatters. The game includes blue wilds and red wilds, with red wilds carrying values of +2, +3, +5 or +10.

Our verdict: Yokai

Yokai is a good looking BGaming release with strong math and a clear artistic identity. The hand drawn style gives the game genuine character, and the Japanese folklore setting feels more polished than many similar themes.

The best part is the free spins round. Sticky wilds and a Moon Multiplier that keeps growing can create enjoyable tension, especially if the starting moon draw gives the feature enough spins to breathe. The 97% RTP is also a major plus.

The weaker side is depth. The base game can feel plain, and the bonus depends heavily on whether the sticky wilds arrive early enough to make the round interesting. Yokai is attractive and well made, but as a slot experience it feels more solid than special.
