Bubble Up! takes Pragmatic Play underwater for a much calmer kind of adventure. Colorful fish, seahorses, shells and other sea creatures fill a bright 6×6 grid, while an octopus watches over the whole thing like it has somehow been promoted to casino manager.
The look is pleasant enough, but Bubble Up! is more interesting mechanically than visually. Instead of relying on Wilds or huge multiplier chains, the game uses randomly appearing Frames that collect Money symbols caught inside them. Two Frames can overlap and boost those values by up to 10x, while the Free Spins round gradually expands the collection area and adds random modifiers. It is a neat idea, even if the base game can feel a little too quiet between the better Frame hits.
Bubble Up! is played on a 6×6 grid with 40 fixed paylines. Wins form from left to right when at least 3 matching sea-creature symbols land across consecutive reels. There are no Wild symbols.
The RTP is 96.52%, with lower 95.55% and 94.51% versions also available. Volatility is medium, the hit frequency is 15.08%, and the maximum win reaches 10,000x the bet. Bets range from 0.20 to 240 per spin.
The main setup revolves around Money symbols and randomly appearing Frames. Frames collect Money values inside them, overlapping Frames can add multipliers, and Free Spins guarantee at least one Frame on every spin while gradually increasing its minimum size.
Bubble Up! keeps the ordinary win system simple. The grid is filled entirely with underwater creatures instead of card ranks, and regular line wins need 3–6 matching symbols across consecutive reels from the left.
There is no Wild to patch up awkward combinations, so the regular paylines are mostly there to keep something happening between the game’s more important Money collections. The real attention goes to the pufferfish-style Money symbols, which can pay as part of normal line wins but become much more important when a Frame catches them.
During both the base game and bonus, a Frame can appear over a random section of the grid. Frames range from 2×2 all the way up to the full 6×6 grid, and every Money symbol caught inside the Frame has its displayed value collected and paid.
A second Frame can also appear on the same spin. If the two overlap, Money symbols sitting inside the shared area receive a random 2x, 3x, 5x, 8x or 10x multiplier before being collected.
This is easily the best part of the base game. One small Frame around a couple of cheap Money symbols can be pretty forgettable, but two Frames suddenly overlapping across a useful part of the grid gives the feature a lot more life.
Money symbols can also contain larger fixed prizes, with values potentially reaching the game’s 10,000x maximum win.
Landing 3, 4, 5 or 6 Scatters always triggers 6 Free Spins, but extra Scatters determine how many modifiers are awarded. Three Scatters give 1 modifier, four give 2, five give 3 and six unlock all 4 modifiers.
Before the bonus starts, 8 Coins appear in a pick game. You reveal them until two matching modifier names are found, repeating the process until the required number of modifiers has been selected.
Even without Dual, at least one Frame is guaranteed on every Free Spin. Scatters are also collected during the feature, and every 3 collected Scatters increase the minimum Frame size by one level, progressing from 2×2 through 3×3, 4×4 and 5×5 to the full 6×6 grid. Every upgrade also adds 2 extra Free Spins.
The progression is a good idea because the bonus can visibly improve as it goes. Starting with a tiny Frame is nothing special, but getting it up toward 5×5 or 6×6 makes almost every Money symbol on the screen suddenly relevant.
Bubble Up! includes several enhanced-bet options where they are available.
Ante Bet costs 1.5x the regular bet and improves the Free Spins setup by adding one extra modifier. That means 3–6 triggering Scatters award 2–5 modifiers instead of the standard 1–4.
Super Spin 1 costs 20x the bet and guarantees 1 randomly sized Frame on the spin. Super Spin 2 costs 100x and guarantees 2 Frames. Scatter symbols cannot appear during either Super Spin, so Free Spins cannot trigger from them.
The direct Feature Buy also costs 100x the bet and immediately triggers the Free Spins bonus with at least 3 Scatters.
Bubble Up! is one of those Pragmatic Play releases where the main mechanic is more memorable than the theme around it. The underwater world looks clean and friendly, but it is hardly unexplored territory.
The Frame system is genuinely enjoyable, especially when two Frames overlap or the bonus manages to grow them across most of the grid. The problem is that the normal game can feel fairly empty when those moments are not happening, and the lack of Wilds makes regular line wins feel even more secondary.
There is a solid idea bubbling underneath everything here. We just wish Pragmatic Play had built a little more around it instead of leaving so much of the game dependent on waiting for the next good Frame.
