Slot review: Bonzo’s Bananza

Bonzo’s Bananza is an ELK Studios jungle romp where a smug little temple-guard monkey called Bonzo keeps losing focus the moment bananas show up. The game feels like a cheeky treasure raid with bright fruits, chunky symbols, and that typical ELK “this can turn weird fast” energy. Spins are smooth and simple at first, then the Wilds start nudging around and it suddenly feels like the reels are alive. The fun part is that you are not only hunting wins, you are also hoping the Wild movement lines up so the multipliers ramp up and the respins keep coming. When the bonus lands, the sticky Monkey Wilds can turn the grid into a proper mess in a good way.

Slot overview: Bonzo’s Bananza

Bonzo’s Bananza runs on a 5 reel, 5 row setup with 259 ways to win. You need 3 or more matching symbols on consecutive reels starting from the left. The RTP is listed at 94.00% and the game is tagged as high volatility, with a max win of 10,000x your bet. Typical stake range is 0.20 to 100 per spin.

The core toolkit is all about nudging Wilds, respins, and building multipliers, plus a Bonus Game and a stronger Super Bonus version. If you want to skip the wait, the X-iter menu lets you buy boosted modes or jump straight into the bonuses.

Slot features: Bonzo’s Bananza

Monkey Wild: The Monkey Wild is the main troublemaker. When it lands, it nudges to cover the full reel, then it adds a random multiplier and awards a respin. This is one of the key ways the game creates those sudden “wait, this is getting big” moments.
Banana Wild: The Banana Wild is a two-row-high Wild. It nudges up or down, and every nudge can award respins. It keeps nudging until it eventually moves out of the grid.
Combo Nudge: This is where the slot starts feeling properly spicy. The Banana Wild can randomly connect with the Monkey Wild, and when that happens, the multiplier increases for each nudge. So instead of just moving around for extra chances, the nudging itself becomes part of the payout story.
Respins: Respins are tied directly to the Wild movement system. Monkey Wild actions and Banana Wild nudges can award respins, letting the same paid spin keep going while the grid keeps shifting.
Bonus Game: Landing 3 Bonus symbols triggers the Bonus Game. During this bonus, Monkey Wilds stay sticky for the entire feature, which is a big deal because it lets the reel coverage and multipliers build in a more controlled way.
Super Bonus Game: Landing 4 Bonus symbols triggers the Super Bonus. It starts stronger by giving a guaranteed Monkey Wild on the first spin. Landing 5 Bonus symbols guarantees 2 Monkey Wilds.
X-iter: ELK’s X-iter gives several paid entry options with fixed costs. These are presented as different modes, not just one “buy bonus” button.
- Bonus Hunt costs 2x your bet with more than three times the chance to trigger the Bonus Game.
- Wild spin costs 10x your bet with guaranteed Monkey Wild symbol.
- 2x Wild spin costs 25x your bet with guaranteed two Monkey Wild symbols.
- Bonus Game costs 100x your bet.
- Super Bonus Game costs 500x bet with two Monkey Wild symbols present from the start.

Our verdict: Bonzo’s Bananza

Bonzo’s Bananza earns its score because it actually feels different from the usual jungle slot. The nudging Wilds are not just visuals, they control the pace, the respins, and the multiplier build, so you are always watching the grid like something might happen. The downside is also pretty clear. 94% RTP is low, and with high volatility you can hit dry patches where it feels like Bonzo is asleep on the job. Still, if you like ELK’s style and you enjoy slots where one spin can snowball into a full little event, this one has the right kind of chaos.
