Boombear Bros puts two explosive teddy-bear brothers on opposite sides of the same 6×6 battlefield. One side is all fire, the other ice, with colourful fortresses and cartoon weapons making the whole thing look more like a toy-box war than anything genuinely aggressive. Bullshark Games leans fully into the contrast, and that matters because the two bears also bring completely different bomb mechanics to the grid.
The Fire Power Bomb builds Cell Multipliers, while the Ice Power Bomb turns parts of the board into matching symbols and can even create wilds. That gives the game a nice back-and-forth between building value and actually creating clusters that can use it. Bomb Frenzy can suddenly add several bombs to a dead spin, while the two bonus rounds let the multiplier grid stay alive for much longer. The basic cluster setup is familiar, but the fire-and-ice interaction gives Boombear Bros enough of its own identity.
Boombear Bros uses a 6×6 grid with Cluster Pays. At least 5 matching symbols must connect horizontally or vertically to create a win. Winning symbols disappear and new ones drop into the empty positions, with cascades continuing until no new cluster forms. Wilds can appear naturally or be created by the Ice Power Bomb and substitute for all regular paying symbols.
The highest RTP is 96.32%, with a lower 94.36% version also available. Volatility is medium, hit frequency is 27.39% on the higher-RTP version and the maximum win reaches 12,000x the bet. Stakes range from 0.10 to 75. Cell Multipliers reset between regular spins, so the base game is about building a useful setup quickly before the cascade chain ends.
Power Bombs can land in both the base game and bonus rounds. Each receives a random direction and blast length, so the explosion can travel horizontally, vertically or in a cross pattern for up to five positions.
The Fire Power Bomb adds 2x–20x Cell Multipliers to every position inside its blast. If several bombs hit the same cell, their values are added together. When a win later includes several multiplier cells, those multipliers are also combined before being applied to the payout.
The Ice Power Bomb works differently. Once the normal cascades have finished, it fills its blast area with the same paying symbol or, potentially, wilds. That makes the two bombs complement each other nicely: fire prepares valuable positions and ice gives you another chance to connect symbols through them.
A losing spin with no Power Bombs visible can randomly trigger Bomb Frenzy. The feature adds 2–5 Fire or Ice Power Bombs to the grid before play continues.
It is a simple rescue mechanic, but a useful one. A completely dead board can suddenly gain several multiplier zones or enough matching symbols to restart the cascade sequence.
3 FS Scatters trigger Bombs Away with 10 Free Spins. The important upgrade is that Cell Multipliers now remain active between spins instead of resetting. Every new FS Scatter also adds 1 extra spin before transforming into a regular paying symbol.
Landing 4 FS Scatters triggers Maximum Blast with 12 Free Spins. The same persistent multiplier grid remains, but every Power Bomb now explodes in all four directions. That makes it considerably easier to spread multipliers and symbol transformations across the whole board.
There are four paid options for reaching the stronger mechanics faster.
Short Fuse is the most direct way to play around with the bomb interaction in the base game, while Maximum Blast gives the persistent multiplier grid the best chance to develop properly.
Boombear Bros works because the two bomb types actually need each other. Fire Power Bombs can build an impressive multiplier grid, but those values are useless without wins running through them. Ice Power Bombs solve the other half of the problem by creating matching symbols and new wilds. When both effects start overlapping during the same cascade chain, the game feels much more deliberate than a standard cluster slot with multipliers pasted on top.
The base game is less exciting when the bombs stay away, and resetting every Cell Multiplier between spins means promising setups can disappear quickly. The bonuses fix that weakness by making the grid persistent, especially Maximum Blast with its four-direction explosions. Medium volatility and a 12,000x max win also give it a fairly balanced profile. Not the wildest cluster game around, but a smart mechanic and a strong enough reason to remember these two bears.
