Cloudforge puts you in the cockpit of a brass-covered airship where a green goblin captain spends his day blasting mechanical bugs out of the clouds. It is a wonderfully odd setup, even by Relax Gaming standards, and the steampunk machinery fits the game surprisingly well. The 6×5 grid itself looks fairly traditional, but once the wilds start crawling up the reels, all those pipes and electrical effects suddenly make a lot more sense.
The whole game is built around expanding multiplier wilds. A wild grows upward, increasing its multiplier with every step, while two wilds on the same reel can collide and multiply their values together. Electric reels then push the idea further by making a wild fill the entire reel and doubling its final multiplier. Cloudforge does not throw ten unrelated features at you; it takes one mechanic and keeps finding nastier ways to upgrade it, which is exactly why the otherwise quiet base game manages to stay interesting.
Cloudforge uses 6 reels, 5 rows and 20 fixed paylines, with regular wins forming from left to right on adjacent reels. The wild is the obvious star: it substitutes for normal paying symbols, expands upward and gains +1 to its multiplier with every position it covers. If two wilds land on the same reel, the upper one expands first and the lower one follows, with their multipliers multiplying when the two meet.
The default RTP is 96.10%, volatility sits in the medium-high range and the maximum win is 10,000x the bet. Bets run from 0.10 to 100. The raw paytable is fairly modest, so most of the serious potential comes from the wild system rather than ordinary symbol combinations. That gives Cloudforge a slightly strange rhythm: plenty of spins feel quiet, but the right pair of expanding wilds can suddenly turn one ordinary line win into the only thing on the screen worth looking at.
Wilds land with a multiplier and expand upward through their reel, gaining +1 for every step. Two wilds on the same reel make things much more interesting: the upper wild expands first, the lower one follows, and when they overlap their multipliers are multiplied together rather than added.
A reel can also become electric. If a wild lands there, it expands upward and then back down to fill the entire reel, with its final multiplier doubled. That is where the mechanic starts getting properly dangerous, especially when two wilds are sharing the same reel.
3 Scatters trigger 8 Extermination Spins. Every wild that lands adds its final multiplier value to a persistent global multiplier, which is then applied to wins for the rest of the feature. Landing another 3 Scatters awards 3 extra spins, so an early wild can become much more valuable if the round keeps extending.
The stronger Eradication Spins trigger with 2 Scatters and 1 Super Scatter. You again receive 8 spins and the same persistent multiplier, but one random reel is guaranteed to be electric on every spin. That small change matters a lot, because electric reels are the quickest way to turn ordinary wilds into much larger multiplier contributions.
Cloudforge gives you several paid shortcuts, ranging from one improved spin to direct bonus access.
There is also an Enhanced Bet at 2.5x the normal bet, which quadruples the natural chance of triggering Extermination Spins. It is a surprisingly broad menu, but at least every option still points back to the same wild mechanic instead of turning the game into five unrelated minigames.
Cloudforge is at its best when the wild mechanic starts behaving like a little machine of its own. Watching one wild climb a reel is simple enough, but two colliding, multiplying and then getting caught on an electric reel can turn the same idea into something genuinely satisfying. The two free-spin modes also build on the mechanic properly, with the persistent multiplier giving every early wild a reason to matter later in the feature.
The downside is that the base game can feel like a waiting room between those moments. Twenty paylines and a fairly modest normal paytable leave a lot of spins without much personality, and the 10,000x max win is no longer enormous by Relax Gaming standards. Still, the steampunk goblin theme is memorable, the central mechanic is easy to understand without being boring, and Eradication Spins gives it a strong enough destination.
