Coffee Dealer drops Hacksaw Gaming into a shady back alley where Bean and Dean, the self-styled Caffeine Cowboys, appear to be running the city’s coffee supply like organised crime. The 1930s rubber-hose cartoon style fits the idea perfectly, with crooked pipes, coffee sacks and exaggerated characters surrounding a 5×5 grid. It feels very much like classic Hacksaw visually, but the coffee-smuggling setup gives the familiar look enough personality of its own.
The gameplay is built almost entirely around Coffee Cup wilds. When one contributes to a win, it expands across the whole reel and can gain a multiplier of up to 10x. Several expanded reels can then work together on the same winning line. Three different Free Spins modes gradually push this idea further, from simply increasing the number of Cups to guaranteeing them on every spin. The core mechanic is not especially complicated, but it is strong enough to carry the whole game.
Coffee Dealer uses 5 reels, 5 rows and 19 fixed paylines, with matching symbols paying from left to right. The Coffee Cup acts as a wild and is the most important symbol on the grid, as a winning Cup can expand into a full Wild Coffee Reel. The game does not use cascades or a large collection system, so most spins are very traditional until one or more Cups get involved.
The highest RTP is 96.29%, with 94.38%, 92.25% and 86.33% versions also available. Hit frequency is 28.69%, volatility is very high and the maximum win reaches 10,000x the bet. Stakes range from 0.10 to 100. The relatively frequent hit rate makes the game feel active enough, but the bigger results are heavily dependent on getting multiplier wild reels onto the same winning combination.
A Coffee Cup acts as a wild and substitutes for regular paying symbols. If it contributes to a winning combination, it expands to cover its entire reel before the win is paid.
Once expanded, 0–9 additional Coffee Cups are added to the reel. Each Cup raises that reel’s multiplier by +1, giving a maximum value of 10x. The multiplier applies to every win involving that reel. If several Wild Coffee Reels take part in the same win, their multiplier values above 1x are added together before the final payout is calculated.
Only one Coffee Cup can initially land on each reel, so the strongest spins require several reels to expand at the same time.
Landing 3 FS Scatters triggers Mug Life with 10 Free Spins. Coffee Cups appear more frequently during the feature, giving the Wild Coffee Reel mechanic more chances to activate.
The underlying rules remain the same, so the Cups still need to contribute to a win before expanding. During all three bonus modes, 2 additional FS Scatters award +2 spins and 3 award +4 spins.
4 FS Scatters trigger Brewfather with 8 Free Spins. This is where the reel mechanic starts to develop properly.
Whenever a Coffee Cup expands into a Wild Coffee Reel, that reel becomes activated for the rest of the feature. Every later spin then guarantees a Coffee Cup on that activated reel. The Cup still needs to contribute to a win to expand, but activating several reels early can make the remaining spins considerably stronger.
Landing 5 FS Scatters opens the hidden Espresso Empire bonus with 10 Free Spins.
At least 2 Coffee Cups are guaranteed on every spin, immediately giving the central mechanic far more opportunities to activate. Unlike Mug Life and Brewfather, Espresso Empire cannot be purchased directly and must be triggered naturally from the base game.
It is a simple upgrade on paper, but guaranteeing the symbols that power the entire game makes it comfortably the strongest natural bonus setup.
Coffee Dealer offers two enhanced spin modes and two direct bonus purchases:
Espresso Empire is deliberately left outside the purchase menu, so the game’s strongest bonus can only be found naturally. That gives the five-Scatter hit a little more meaning than if every feature were available behind the same Buy Bonus button.
Coffee Dealer works because Hacksaw Gaming commits to one mechanic and keeps finding sensible ways to strengthen it. The Wild Coffee Reels are easy to understand, but getting several of them into the same win with useful multipliers can turn a very ordinary-looking spin into something much bigger. Brewfather is particularly well designed, as activating reels early gives the bonus a clear sense of progression instead of simply increasing the number of wilds.
It is not one of Hacksaw’s most experimental games, and the expanding multiplier-reel idea has appeared in similar forms before. The normal paytable is also fairly modest, meaning quiet stretches can feel dependent on waiting for Cups. Still, the excellent cartoon-crime presentation, three genuinely different bonus levels and 10,000x max win make Coffee Dealer a very complete release. Familiar mechanics, but used well enough to earn a decent score.
