Gates of Olympus 2500 brings Zeus back to the clouds for yet another round, but this time Pragmatic Play has done more than simply increase the number on the logo. The familiar gems, golden crowns and angry god are still exactly where you remember them, while multiplier orbs can now reach an absurd 2,500x.
More importantly, the bonus finally gets a proper shake-up. Four different Free Spins modes decide whether multipliers only matter alongside wins or are collected into a persistent total, while the Super versions remove the weakest values completely. It still looks and feels unmistakably like Gates of Olympus, but underneath the recycled scenery is one of the most meaningful upgrades the series has had in a while.
The setup remains instantly familiar with 6 reels and 5 rows. There are no paylines: landing at least 8 matching symbols anywhere on the screen creates a win, after which the winning symbols disappear and new ones tumble into their positions. The process continues until a tumble fails to produce another payout.
The highest RTP is 96.52%, with 95.50% and 94.50% versions also available. Volatility is high and the maximum win reaches 25,000x the bet, while bets range from 0.20 to 240. The biggest mechanical headline is naturally the new multiplier ceiling, with Zeus able to drop multiplier symbols worth anything up to 2,500x during both the base game and bonuses.
Every win clears the matching symbols from the board and starts another tumble. As long as fresh wins keep appearing, the same paid spin can continue through multiple sequences.
Multiplier symbols can land during any tumble with values reaching 2,500x. If several appear during the same spin, their values are added together before the multiplier is applied to the total win from that sequence.
This is still classic Gates of Olympus, but the new ceiling changes what a single orb can potentially do. You no longer need several huge multipliers on the same screen to reach an extreme total, although naturally getting a 2,500x orb to connect with an actual win is another story entirely.
Landing 4 or more Scatters triggers 15 Free Spins, while another three Scatters during the feature add 5 extra spins. Before the bonus begins, a wheel randomly selects one of four different versions.
Free Spins 1 follows the more familiar setup, where multipliers appearing alongside winning spins contribute to the payout.
Free Spins 2 is much more interesting. Every Multiplier symbol that appears is collected into a running total, even when the spin itself does not produce a win. That accumulated multiplier then applies to later wins throughout the bonus.
This fixes one of the most frustrating things about the old formula: watching a huge multiplier land on a dead spin and disappear without doing anything.
Both Free Spins modes also have a stronger Super version.
Super Free Spins 1 follows the first multiplier system, while Super Free Spins 2 uses the persistent collection mechanic. The difference is that every Multiplier symbol now has a minimum value of 10x.
That minimum matters most in Super Free Spins 2. Even the weaker orbs contribute meaningfully to the running total, and early multipliers can keep boosting wins for the rest of the feature.
The four-way system gives the bonus much more variety than previous Gates releases. A regular Free Spins 1 round can still feel very familiar, while Super Free Spins 2 is a completely different animal once the accumulated multiplier starts climbing.
There is also a large menu of paid options ranging from slightly improved bonus chances to direct entry into whichever Free Spins mode you want.
The prices get ridiculous quickly, especially at the top end, but at least every level changes something meaningful. The 250x Free Spins 2 purchase is already mechanically different from the basic bonus instead of simply being a more expensive route to the same feature.
Gates of Olympus 2500 is what this series needed: still immediately recognisable, but finally willing to mess with the formula instead of only increasing the multiplier ceiling. The jump to 2,500x orbs is flashy, but Free Spins 2 is the real improvement. Huge multipliers no longer have to disappear uselessly just because a spin fails to produce a win.
The four bonus versions also give the game much more replay value, especially once the Super modes raise the minimum multiplier to 10x. Visually, Pragmatic Play has barely moved Zeus from his usual cloud and the base game is still very familiar, but mechanically this feels like a proper evolution rather than another numbered reskin. Easily one of the strongest Gates releases yet.
