Slot review: MexoMax!

Get ready to dive deep into the heart of the Aztec jungle with Yggdrasil’s “MexoMax!”, a slot that merges the mystique of ancient Mayan culture with modern slot mechanics. It’s a game that promises explosive wins if you can handle its high volatility and the intense gameplay that comes with it.

Slot overview: MexoMax!

“MexoMax!” is a 6×6 grid slot that operates on a Cluster Pays mechanic, meaning wins are formed by landing five or more matching symbols in adjacent positions. Set against the backdrop of a dense jungle, the game’s theme is steeped in Mayan mythology, with high-definition graphics and an immersive soundtrack that draws players into its mysterious world. With an RTP of 96% and extremely high volatility, this slot isn’t for the faint-hearted but offers significant rewards, including a max win potential of 10,000x your bet.

The game is part of Yggdrasil’s MultiMax series, which means multipliers play a significant role. These multipliers are tied to each reel and can stack up as Dropdown wins occur, where winning symbols disappear, allowing new ones to cascade down, potentially leading to more wins

Slot features: MexoMax!

Cluster Pays & Dropdown Wins:
- Wins are formed by clusters of at least five matching symbols. After a win, the Dropdown feature triggers, removing the winning symbols and dropping new ones into their place, potentially creating new wins.
Wilds & Multipliers:
- With each Dropdown win, a wild symbol is added to the grid, and the multiplier on the corresponding reel increases by +1. If multiple multipliers contribute to a win, their values multiply together, potentially leading to massive payouts. These multipliers reset between paid spins but can accumulate quickly during a single spin session.
Free Spins:
- Triggered by landing 3, 4, or 5 scatter symbols, awarding 7, 9, or 11 free spins respectively. You can gamble your free spins for a chance to win up to 18 spins, but be warned—losing the gamble means losing all your spins.
- During the free spins, reel multipliers do not reset between spins, leading to significant win potential by the end of the feature.
Bonus Buy:
- For those eager to jump straight into the action, the Bonus Buy feature allows you to purchase the free spins round. Options include buying a random number of spins or purchasing the maximum 18 spins directly, at a cost of 350x your bet.

Slot verdict: MexoMax!

“MexoMax!” delivers a thrilling, high-volatility experience that’s perfect for players who love big risks with the potential for big rewards. The game’s use of cascading wins, stacking multipliers, and a lucrative free spins round makes it a standout in Yggdrasil’s portfolio. However, its brutal volatility means it’s best suited for those who can handle the swings and are in it for the long haul. If you’re a fan of games like “Raptor DoubleMax” or “Multifly!”, MexoMax! is definitely worth a spin.
