Pirots 5 - Demo & Slot Review

Pirots 5 is played with ELK Studios’ CollectR™ mechanic instead of traditional paylines. The game starts on a 6×6 grid and can expand up to 8×8. Four parrots collect matching gems in their own colours, along with useful feature symbols that appear in their path.

The top RTP is 96%, with lower versions also listed at 94%, 92%, 90% and 87%. The volatility is high, and the hit frequency is 25.1%. The bet range is 0.20-100, and the maximum win is 10,000x the bet.

The game is built around collection, movement and persistent progress. The parrots collect matching gems, the grid can grow as the round develops, and stronger moments come from temple events, Captain Blackfeather and bonus drops that carry some of that progress forward. There is quite a bit going on under the feathers, so let’s open the temple door properly in the features section.

• CollectR™: Pirots 5 does not use fixed paylines or normal ways. Four parrots move around the grid and collect gems that match their own colour. Symbols are collected from adjacent positions, and new symbols drop into the empty spaces when the current collection path ends.
• Expanding grid: The game starts on a 6×6 grid and can grow up to 8×8. A larger grid gives the birds more room to collect gems, trigger features and generally make the screen look like someone spilled a treasure chest into a puzzle game.
• Gems: Gems can be upgraded through several levels, up to level 7. Higher-level gems pay more when collected, so upgrades are one of the main ways the game builds bigger potential during a round.
• Collection Meter: Collected gems and wilds charge the meter above the grid. When the meter fills, it stores a pending feature-symbol release. Up to 3 releases can be stored, and when the birds can no longer collect symbols, random gems are turned into feature symbols.
• Feature symbols: Pirots 5 includes several feature symbols that can appear through the symbol-release system.
  • Wilds substitute for gems and can be collected by the birds.
  • Coins pay their visible value as a bet multiplier, with values reaching up to 2,500x. A Max Win coin can pay the remaining amount needed to hit the 10,000x cap.
  • Upgrade increases the collecting bird’s gem level by 1-3 levels.
  • Upgrade All increases all gem levels by 1-3 levels.
  • Transform changes nearby gems into the collecting bird’s colour.
  • Super Transform repeats the transform effect 2 or 3 times.
  • Bonus / Super Bonus symbols are collected to trigger the bonus rounds.
  • Tokens count toward long-term token progress and help unlock Boss Castle.
• Captain Blackfeather: Captain Blackfeather can appear during drops. If a parrot ends up next to him, he can turn that bird into a ghost and take over its gems and feature symbols. Those gems become Blackfeather Gems with their own payout values, and he may also take over more birds before leaving.
• Switcheroo and Labyrinth: If 2 parrots end up next to each other and cannot collect more symbols, they may swap places through Switcheroo. A stronger Super Switcheroo can send one bird flying across the grid. If 3 or more parrots end up together, Labyrinth can clear random rows and columns and separate the birds into new positions.
• Catacombs: Catacombs can trigger when a parrot collects the matching corner symbol. The bird enters the catacombs and can fight a mummy. Winning the fight awards a feature symbol, while losing sends the bird back out. Captain Blackfeather can also enter the Catacombs if he has taken control of the bird, and he automatically wins the fight because villains apparently read the cheat sheet.
• Traps and Secret Door: Pirots 5 includes several trap-style features. Arrow Shooters can hit birds and change gems, Boulder can roll across the grid and crush symbols, and Charlie’s Extra Chance can activate more traps when the birds run out of moves. Secret Door splits the grid into sections and rotates them, moving symbols, birds and traps into new positions. It can also set up access to the Cursed Temple Coin Game.
• Cursed Temple Coin Game: The Cursed Temple Coin Game triggers when the entire grid is cleared during the Secret Door feature. It is played on an 8×8 grid with a 2×2 Cursed Treasure area in the middle. The feature starts with 3 respins, and the counter resets whenever a new coin or bird lands. Coins are sticky, and parrots collect them with the same movement logic used in the main game. Captain Blackfeather can also upgrade the Cursed Treasure, allowing extra coin rain during the remaining drops.
• Bonus: If 3 Bonus symbols are collected by the birds the Bonus triggers with 5 Free Drops. The feature keeps important progress from the triggering round, including grid size, collection meter progress and gem upgrades. During the bonus, collected Bonus symbols award extra drops.
• Super Bonus: If at least one of the triggering Bonus symbols is a Super Bonus symbol, the Super Bonus starts instead. It works like the regular Bonus, but adds Cursed Treasure Coin Rain at the start of each drop.
• Tokens and Boss Castle: Pirots 5 includes 9 collectable tokens across 3 worlds: Cursed Temple, The Kraken and City of Gold. Token progress is persistent across bet levels, game rounds and game modes. Collecting all 9 tokens unlocks Boss Castle permanently.
• Feature Buy: Pirots 5 includes several X-iter options.
  • Bonus Hunt costs 3x the bet and gives a 5x higher chance to trigger the Bonus.
  • Mega Hunt costs 10x the bet and gives more than a 20x higher chance to trigger the Bonus.
  • Cursed Temple costs 50x the bet and starts the Cursed Temple Coin Game.
  • Bonus costs 100x the bet and starts the Bonus directly.
  • Super Bonus costs 250x the bet and starts the Super Bonus directly.
