Rotten Potato uses 5 reels, 4 rows and 30 fixed paylines. Regular wins require at least three matching symbols on consecutive reels from the left, while only the highest win on each payline is paid. There is no normal wild in the base game. Instead, most of the extra potential comes from Mystery-symbol modifiers and the 14 SuperSpinner positions sitting between the reels.

The default RTP is listed at around 96.2%, depending on the exact game configuration, while volatility is high and hit frequency is 25.69%. The maximum win reaches 20,000x the bet, with stakes starting from 0.10 and reaching up to 50 in the international build. SuperSpinner multipliers

There are 14 SuperSpinners positioned between the reels. When a winning payline passes through a SuperSpinner carrying a multiplier, that value is applied to the win.

If the same payline passes through several active SuperSpinners, the multipliers are applied consecutively. That is where a fairly normal line win can suddenly become much more valuable, especially once the bonus starts adding stronger multiplier values into the system.

Potato Horde and Spreading Fungus

Two random Mystery modifiers can activate before the wins are evaluated.

Potato Horde covers one continuous area ranging from 2×2 up to 5×4 positions with Mystery symbols.

Spreading Fungus works more loosely and infects 4–20 random positions across the reels.

All affected Mystery symbols then transform into the same regular paying symbol. A large patch of low-paying flowers may not do much, but the same transformation landing on one of the better potato characters can create several paylines at once.

Potato Plague Bonus

3, 4 or 5 Scatters award 10, 12 or 14 Free Spins. A sticky 1×2 Rotten Potato Wild is placed on the middle reel for the entire feature.

Whenever that wild participates in a win, all regular symbol positions involved in the winning combination become infected for the rest of the bonus. Random extra positions can also become infected after a spin, and this additional infection is guaranteed when the feature is triggered with 5 Scatters.

Whenever a symbol lands on an infected position, it behaves as a Mystery symbol. The bonus can therefore become increasingly powerful as more of the 5×4 grid is taken over.

Infection Stages

A meter above the reels tracks how much of the grid has become infected. There are five stages:

• Stage 1 adds 3 Free Spins and unlocks an extra 10x SuperSpinner value.
• Stage 2 adds 3 spins and raises the value to 15x.
• Stage 3 adds 3 spins and raises it to 20x.
• Stage 4 adds 3 spins and raises it to 50x.
• Stage 5 adds 1 spin and unlocks the maximum 100x value.

The active bonus multiplier is randomly distributed across the SuperSpinners on every Free Spin. Reaching the later stages therefore improves both the amount of infected Mystery positions and the multiplier potential at the same time.
