Somewhere deep in Play’n GO’s forest, a kid named Jack Tracker has decided that chasing Bigfoot treasure is a perfectly normal camping plan. Stompin’ Gold turns that little expedition into a bright GO Collect slot with two hairy troublemakers, Biggie and Boogie, messing around behind the reels.
The whole thing has a nice adventure-cartoon feel. There is a tent, a campfire, woodland symbols and enough gold to make the trip look a lot more profitable than most camping weekends.
Stompin’ Gold is played on 5 reels and 3 rows with 20 fixed paylines. Wins form from left to right when at least 3 matching symbols land on active paylines, starting from the first reel.
The main RTP is 96.20%, with lower versions also listed at 94.20%, 91.20%, 87.20% and 84.20%. Volatility is high, and the hit frequency is listed around 27.77%. The bet range is 0.10–100, and the maximum win is 50,000x the bet.
The game is built around wild upgrades, Mystery symbols and Bounty Coins that can open the Hold’N Grow bonus. The setup is easy to understand, but the bonus can grow into something much bigger once the grid starts expanding and the smaller Hold’N Spin round gets involved.
Stompin’ Gold keeps the base game light, but not completely empty. Most normal spins are about watching for Mystery symbols, wilds and Bounty Coins, because those are the symbols that can actually push the game beyond basic line wins.
The camping theme also helps the simple structure. Jack Tracker, Biggie and Boogie are not just pasted onto the side of the game; they are tied to the wild modifiers and the treasure hunt idea. It gives the slot a bit more warmth than another plain coin collector with a gold logo and no personality.
Mystery symbols can land on all reels. When they reveal, all visible Mystery symbols turn into the same symbol type. They usually reveal a regular paying symbol, but they can also reveal wilds or Bounty Coins, which is where they become much more useful.
Wilds substitute for regular symbols, but Biggie and Boogie can make them stronger. If one of the creatures appears when wilds are visible, those wilds can receive multipliers of 2x, 3x, 5x, 10x, 20x, 50x or 100x. If both creatures appear, wilds expand to cover their full reels and can also receive those same multiplier values. If several wild multipliers are involved in one win, their values are added together.
Bounty Coins are the main cash symbols. Regular coins can show values from 1x to 5x the bet, while special coins can show fixed jackpot prizes: Mini 10x, Minor 25x, Major 100x, Mega 250x and Grand 1,000x. If 1–3 Bounty Coins land, they are collected into the GO Collect meter with a chance to trigger Hold’N Grow. Landing 4 or more Bounty Coins starts Hold’N Grow directly.
Hold’N Grow is the main bonus. It starts with 3 respins, and every new Bounty Coin resets the respin counter back to 3. The feature begins with only 3 rows active, but the grid can expand step by step as more coins land. At full size, it can reach 5×8.
This expanding grid is the best part of the game. A lot of Hold & Win rounds just lock coins and wait for the counter to die, but Stompin’ Gold gives the feature a bit more progression. The more coins that land, the more room the bonus can open, and the more the round starts feeling like an actual treasure dig rather than a coin shelf.
Hold’N Spin can trigger inside Hold’N Grow when a Bonus Bounty Coin lands. This opens a separate 3×3 mini-round with its own 3 respins. When that mini-round ends, the total value collected there becomes the value of the Bonus Bounty Coin back in Hold’N Grow. It is a simple idea, but a good one. The bonus gets a bonus, which is exactly the kind of greed a treasure hunt should have.
Stompin’ Gold is a good Play’n GO release, mainly because it gives the GO Collect format a theme that actually sticks. Biggie, Boogie and the forest expedition make the game feel more alive than a standard coin-respin slot, even though the underlying mechanics are still very familiar.
The best part is the two-layer bonus structure. Hold’N Grow already has a nice sense of progress thanks to the expanding grid, and Hold’N Spin adds a smaller bonus inside it that can feed one bigger coin value back into the main round.
The weaker side is the wait. High volatility and a 50,000x max win mean the game can go quiet for long stretches, and the base game is not deep enough to carry everything by itself. Still, the theme works, the bonus has a good shape and the max win gives it proper chase value.
