Mamma Mia 2 keeps the same Italian restaurant idea as the original, but it is not built like the old game. The first Mamma Mia was a 5×3, 30-payline slot with pizza scatters, a sticky wild style lock feature, and separate bonus mini-games. Mamma Mia 2 strips that down into a much smaller 3×3, 5 payline format and rebuilds it around cash collection, fixed jackpots, a pick style bonus, and free spins. So this sequel is less about classic Betsoft variety and more about direct bonus traffic. That change makes it easier to follow, but also a bit thinner between feature hits. The game still has charm, and the restaurant setting works, yet the sequel feels more mechanical and less lively than the original.

Our verdict: Mamma Mia 2

Mamma Mia 2 is a decent sequel, but it does not really outgrow the feeling of being a simplified rework. The biggest difference from the original is not that it adds more depth. It actually becomes smaller, tighter, and more bonus dependent. That makes the game easier to understand, and the cash collector plus jackpot angle gives it a clearer direction, but it also removes some of the broader charm the first game had with its bigger reelset and more varied old school feature mix. So while the sequel is tidy and feature led enough to stay entertaining, it still feels more like a compact modern remake than a truly stronger follow up.
