Slot review: Outsourced 2

Outsourced 2: Balkan Engineering brings Nolimit City back to the wonderfully questionable world of Outsourced, except this time the factory has spilled out onto a Balkan construction site. The basic philosophy seems to be simple: why pay a professional when somebody’s cousin can apparently build the whole thing cheaper? Concrete, scaffolding, dodgy elevators and questionable workmanship set the scene, while the game happily turns every construction-site stereotype up several notches.

The original Outsourced was already one of Nolimit City’s more interesting mechanical experiments, and the sequel does not throw that foundation away. Instead, it builds another slightly crooked floor on top. Print Spins return, but now they are joined by Infectious xWays, xNudge Balkan Wilds, Elevators and an even more ridiculous collection of boosters and bonus buys. It is recognizably Outsourced, just bigger, messier and somehow even less concerned with building regulations.

Slot overview: Outsourced 2

outsourced 2 slot

Outsourced 2 is played across 4 reels with 5 rows on each reel, creating 625 ways to win before the xWays mechanics start interfering with the layout. Regular matching symbols pay on adjacent reels from left to right.

The RTP is 96.04%, with lower 94.06% and 92.05% configurations also available. Volatility is extreme, the hit frequency is 24.59%, and the maximum win reaches 11,111x the bet. Bets range from 0.20 to 200 per spin.

The game is built around Print Spins, where winning positions develop their own multipliers, while Infectious xWays can dramatically increase the number of matching symbols in play. xNudge Balkan Wilds bring potentially huge wild multipliers, and the Elevator can either help enormously or open its doors to absolutely nothing useful. It is a very Nolimit City mixture of powerful mechanics and things deliberately going wrong.

Basics

The 4×5 layout gives Outsourced 2 considerably more space than the original game, and the starting 625 ways can expand further once Infectious xWays gets involved. There are no traditional paylines to worry about, so regular wins simply need matching symbols to appear across consecutive reels from the left.

The base game already contains most of the important mechanics. Print Spins can build multipliers on individual positions, xWays can infect matching symbols, Balkan Wilds can bring massive multipliers, and Elevators can suddenly open the door to a bonus. It sounds like a lot because it is a lot, but the features overlap surprisingly well instead of feeling like eight separate ideas fighting for screen time.

Symbols and features

Infectious xWays reveals a regular paying symbol at a size of 2 to 4 symbols. Every other copy of that same symbol already visible on the reels then becomes infected and expands as well. If multiple Infectious xWays land together, they reveal the same symbol, and repeated infections can multiply the symbol size even further. There is one small construction-site problem: the feature can also reveal a useless blocker instead.

The xNudge Balkan Wild can land anywhere on the reels and nudge into position. Every step adds +1x to its multiplier, with values potentially reaching an absurd 999x. If several Balkan Wilds participate in the same win, their multipliers are added together. Naturally, this piece of equipment can also malfunction and remain sitting there as a plain 1×1 wild with no fancy multiplier attached.

Then there are Print Spins, one of the ideas carried over from the first Outsourced. After a winning combination pays, the winning symbols disappear and fresh symbols fill those positions. Every position involved in the win gains +1x to its individual multiplier. Another win triggers another Print Spin, allowing those positions to keep developing until a spin finally produces no win.

This becomes especially nasty when Infectious xWays lands on a position that has already built up a decent multiplier. The expanded symbol can use that position multiplier when it pays, giving the different mechanics a proper reason to exist together rather than just being thrown into the same toolbox.

The Elevator is considerably less reliable. In the base game, opening its doors can reveal either an instant bonus mode or a blocker. During bonus rounds, it can instead award 1, 2 or 7 extra spins, although the blocker remains an option there too. It is basically the perfect Outsourced feature: occasionally extremely useful and occasionally the sort of elevator that should have failed its inspection years ago.

There is also xTra Spin, which can appear after a round ends. It offers the chance to buy one additional spin while keeping the symbol multipliers that have already been built. The price depends on the current multiplier setup, so a board covered in valuable positions naturally becomes much more expensive to keep alive.

Bonuses

Landing 3 Bonus symbols triggers 4 Tilt Spins, while 4 Bonus symbols award 7 Tiltier Spins. Most importantly, any position multipliers created before entering the bonus are carried into the feature rather than being wiped away.

The two bonuses otherwise use the same basic machinery. Print Spins, Infectious xWays, Balkan Wilds and Elevators remain active, and an Elevator can add 1, 2 or 7 extra spins along the way. Tiltier Spins simply gives the whole mess three extra attempts from the start, which can make a big difference when the grid already enters the bonus with useful multipliers attached.

There is also Filthiest Spins, but this one is reserved for the buy menu. It gives 7 spins using the same core rules as Tiltier Spins, except every single position begins with a 2x multiplier. Starting with the entire grid already upgraded removes some of the slow build-up and lets Print Spins get nasty much faster.

At the top sits God Mode and the appropriately subtle Big Szukcess feature. The objective is to land the letters B, O, O and M, which can award the full 11,111x maximum win.

Feature Buy

If the normal game is not chaotic enough, the Nolimit Booster and Nolimit Bonus menus provide a frankly ridiculous number of ways to spend more per spin.

The cheaper options start with Bonus Booster at 1.35x the bet, which guarantees a Bonus symbol and makes Tilt or Tiltier Spins more than three times more likely. Balkan Bonus Booster costs 13.5x and guarantees a Bonus symbol both on the initial spin and during Print Spins, making the bonuses more than 20 times more likely to trigger.

From there things escalate quickly:

  • 3x Print Spins costs 15x: every grid position starts at a 3x multiplier.
  • 6x Printier Spins costs 200x: every position starts at 6x.
  • Tiltier Spins costs 390x: direct access to 7 Tiltier Spins.
  • 8x Printiest Spin costs 750x: every position begins at 8x.
  • Filthiest Spins costs 999x: 7 spins with every position starting at 2x.
  • God Mode costs 1,111x: the most extreme option, with Big Szukcess and the 11,111x maximum win in play.

There is a lovely sense of escalation here. The menu starts at a harmless-looking 1.35x and somehow ends with you paying 1,111 bets to let a badly constructed building decide your financial future. Very on-brand.

Our verdict: Outsourced 2

Outsourced 2 is exactly the kind of sequel we like to see. It keeps the parts that made the original interesting but adds enough new machinery that it does not feel like the same game wearing a different hard hat.

The strongest part is how well everything interacts. Print Spins, Infectious xWays and the Balkan Wild can all feed into each other, so the chaos usually feels like it has a purpose. The presentation is also pure Nolimit City: crude, exaggerated and knowingly stupid in a way that fits the broken construction-site theme perfectly.

There are still moments when the game feels deliberately hostile, particularly when a promising Wild decides to malfunction or an Elevator reveals another blocker. That frustration is clearly part of the joke, but it will not be funny every time.

As a follow-up, though, this is bigger, meaner and much more ambitious than simply rebuilding the original. The foundation may look completely illegal, but somehow the whole thing holds together remarkably well.
